| 3 | Atomoxetine Effect on Attention, Executive Function, and Quality of Life in Veterans With Posttraumatic Stress Disorder PF:3 Related Papers Related Patents Related Grants Related Experts Highlight: Attention deficits (AD) frequently co-occur with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The presence of AD is associated with greater PTSD clinical severity and poorer clinical outcomes. Knowledge regarding the mechanism underlying this association is limited, though the emerging evidence has indicated that executive function deficit (EFD) is strongly correlated with AD and PTSD symptoms. While treatments developed for PTSD have existed for years, a substantial portion of individuals do not fully respond to conventional treatment. Accumulating evidence suggest that attention deficit (AD) and EFD may be a driving force for PTSD treatment resistance. However, … |

The placebo will look exactly like the MAS capsules but will contain no MAS. During this study, participants may get a placebo instead of MAS. Placebos are used in research studies to see if the study results are due to the study drug or due to other reasons. Participants with ASD and ADHD will complete 4-weeks of treatment with the study medication or placebo. They will complete bi-weekly study visits virtually via a telemedicine platform with the study doctor and complete questionnaires. On alternating weeks, they will meet with a Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) study team member to discuss medication adherence and potential side effects. Participants will have the option to attend all study visits in-person if participants prefer. They will also complete baseline and endpoint Magnetic Resonance (MR) scan visits at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). During the MR Scan visits, they will complete a series of tasks to measure inattention, impulsivity, reward sensitivity, decision-making, and working memory. Participants without ADHD or ASD will complete eligibility screening with MGH. If eligible, they will be invited to baseline and endpoint MR scan visits at MIT. The main questions it aims to answer are: * What components of executive function training contribute most to improving outcomes? * How do training components vary in their impacts on adolescents diagnosed with ADHD compared to those without a diagnosis? * What individual characteristics influence the effectiveness of executive function training? Researchers will test six different training setups to examine which setups are the most effective for different people. They will evaluate both how well participants follow the training schedule and whether there are changes in psychological and cognitive outcomes after training. Participants will complete: * 40 training sessions over 4 weeks * A set of tests and surveys before and after the training * Follow-up assessments and surveys 6 months after finishing the training |

| 51 | Evaluation of The Fetal Fornix and Hippocampus in Pregnant Women With Early-Onset Preeclampsia PF:2 Related Papers Related Patents Related Grants Related Experts Highlight: Since early-onset preeclampsia (EOPE) is commonly associated with inadequate placentation, placental insufficiency, chronic fetal hypoxia, oxidative stress, and heightened inflammation, these pathological processes may adversely affect hippocampal neuronal development and maturation of axonal pathways such as the fornix. These mechanisms support our hypothesis that fetal fornix and hippocampus dimensions may be reduced in pregnancies complicated by EOPE, forming the scientific basis of our study. Previous research has suggested a potential link between preeclampsia (PE) and altered neurocognitive development. However, no studies to date have specifically evaluated the relationship between EOPE and fetal fornix or hippocampus dimensions. Therefore, … |

| 192 | Extending The Reach of Evidence-based Practices to Support Student’s Attention and Behavior Through Technology PF:3 Related Papers Related Patents Related Grants Related Experts Highlight: The purpose of this study is to integrate digital health (dHealth) technology into the Collaborative Life Skills Program (CLS), an established, school-based behavioral intervention for students with ADHD, to make the program accessible to schools that serve students from low-socioeconomic (SES) backgrounds. Existing evidence-based interventions for students with ADHD are often inaccessible in schools with limited resources to support implementation. By adapting CLS to include a dHealth tool-CLS-D-investigators aim to improve the feasibility of intervention implementation in schools with limited resources and mitigate disparities in access to evidence-based interventions among students with ADHD who are from low-SES backgrounds. |
